Myopia

Myopia is an anomaly of the vision that permits seeing objects close-up with some clarity, while distance vision is blurred. It is estimated that some 70 million Americans are myopic. Usually caused by an eyeball that is too long in relation to the strength of the cornea to provide a clear image, myopia creates an overpowered focus on the retina. A contact lens, such as the Resolution™ , would reduce the focusing power of the eye to permit distance vision.

This is how a spherical contact lens corrects myopia:

The oblong shape of the eyeball produces an image in front of the retina that creates blurred distance vision.

By reducing the focusing power of the eye with the help of an appropriate contact lens, we obtain a single focus point on the retina where the vision is clearest.
